Please consider A wild Eagle thinks it criminal for someone to trim it's wings, yet an Eagle that is eventually domesticated finds vast freedom by having been clipped... freedom within the domain of its master, where there is food, and safety... a strange life unimagined by the wild Eagle who goes to great lengths to make sure it isn't caught. Such is the Kingdom of God.
The popular opinion at the time of Jeremiah was that God was going to break the back of Babylon, so they needed to defend their sovereign right as a nation and fight on.
Jeremiah said no... give in to their rule... live peacefully amongst their midst for 70 years and God will deliver you. But few would listen... so many more died or lived in suffering than needed to, except for a peacefully obedient few.
History proves it was the Providence of God that they be conquered, for it was a heathen government - in its unrighteousness - that did what the Jews would not do. The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob was spread past the walls of Jerusalem. The concept of One God spread to Babylon and beyond. And let's not forget... this was a judgment from God upon the Jewish nation for not doing the job they signed up for.
Live peacefully in the U.S. and enjoy your freedom of religion. If Christianity is losing any of its freedom it is because of the weeds amongst the wheat. Forget not the words of Jesus. Give others the same amount of chances you give yourself. Let the suffering of Christianity in America stop. Love all to a fault... let not the weeds choke your wheat... again I say, enjoy your freedom of religion in America... it is the most precious freedom we have.
Join the Conservative Right peacefully against the Conservative Left. Join the Fellowship Of Saints by living His life. Truth sets us free to walk His talk.
Cautiously and humbly vote as God has given you the freedom to vote, but know this: God always has, and always will reign over the nations, whether that nation be righteous or not, or it knows of His reign or not. He is God - He knows the things of nations, we do not.
Live in peace and faith, for in neither of these will God or the nations find fault. Voting has its virtues and its vices, and can show faith or not. Listen to your heart and not political rhetoric. Be humble and cautious. We step into the shadows of nations and in the realm of God. Love is our rule and guide. |
